Gypsona is a fast-setting plaster of Paris bandage used by trained clinicians to make a supportive cast or splint for immobilising injuries and fractures after assessment. Its woven gauze helps the wet plaster conform to the limb and form a stable cast. Choose the required 7.5, 10 or 20 cm width according to the casting plan.<\/p>\n

Professional application<\/h3>\n

  1. Assess the injury and protect the skin and pressure points with stockinette and undercast padding such as Soffban.<\/li>\n
  2. Wet and apply the bandage in overlapping layers, following the manufacturer\u2019s instructions and the appropriate casting technique. Mould the cast and leave fingers or toes available for observation.<\/li>\n
  3. Check circulation, sensation and movement after application and during cast care. Severe pain, numbness or colour change requires urgent clinical review.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For use by trained professionals; do not apply directly to skin or an open wound. Complementary supplies include Soffban padding, protective stockinette and other casting tools as required.
